Hallo everybody,

Someone knows about this problem?:
I buy a new MSI-GL75 10SDR-222 Laptop and make a Analys with "Whysoslow" https://www.resplendence.com/whysoslow, everything was Ok except BIOS and Chipset behaviour  8| : "The highest measured SM BIOS interrupt or other stall was 560 microseconds. This is considered very poor. Your system will have difficulty handling multimedia in real time and will be subject to unexpected stutters and unresponsive behavior"

- i make this test to another MSI Laptop a month ago and got the same problem. (so maybe is a general MSI problem?)
- My old Acer laptop had in "Bios and Chipset" only 22 ms !

how can i fix this problem?

And ... do you have any problems?

I would not believe such pointless tools, just use the device as the manufacturer intended.

Always keep the BIOS and EC firmware up-to-date, although Windows 10 does this automatically if Windows 10 is installed via UEFI.But I also ran this tool on my GT73VR 6RE as a test and there was also noted around in the BIOS.

But I have no problems with the device at all, so the program is simply ... meaningless :)

Thank you iTzZent for your reassuring answer,

The 560 microseconds worried me because they are too much compared to my other laptop with only 22ms. and i want a fast laptop for music production with less latency.
otherwise I don't see any problems, it runs stably and the latencymon values are stable.
someone knows another software like whysoslow to check this values correctly?

i will put a new SSD 2TB hard drive, should i install a clean win or a win image?

thanxs

I don't know what the program is doing the measurements on, the result doesn't make any sense to me.

Yes, you should definitely install a clean Windows. Simply use the Microsoft media creation tool to create the installation device, then you will definitely have the latest version.
When it is completely installed, simply let Windows Update run through completely, including the optimal drivers, you have to select these separately in Windows Update. Then you can see what is still missing.

Then only get the following things from the Windows Store
Intel Graphics Control Panel
MSI Dragon Center
Nahimic 3
Nvidia Control Panel
Realtek Audio Console

Now everything should go as it should.

If drivers are still missing, see here: https://de.msi.com/product/support_sku/46767#down-driver&Win10%2064

You can't choose the bios, that's the way it is, whether you need it or not :)

thank you very much for this information!

i dont play games, do i need dragon center?

Why do you buy a gaming notebook (and with it also buy the negative features such as high waste heat and high volume) when you are not playing?

The Dragon Center is the MSI administration program, you can do without it, but I would recommend it to you.

i need a fast workstation laptop for work with audio processes and gamers laptop are fast, i dont know witch could be better

Of course, gaming notebooks are fast, but savings are made in other areas. If I look at Lenovo's business notebooks (T, P and X Series), for example, they cost less and are much more valuable and future-proof if you don't want to play. Because these are pure work machines. I personally use, for example, a 4 1/2 year old MSI GT73VR 6RE 4K to play and a Lenovo Thinkpad T460s to work. In terms of processing, there are WORLDS between the devices, although the MSI cost approx. 2000 euros MORE, it is significantly worse processed because it is a gaming notebook. The priorities are put purely in the performance and in the features.

I don't want to badmouth the GL75, it is and will remain a great device. But as a pure working device, there are significantly better devices.

ok, i will search this laptop models  ... but for the nexts years will the GT75 work hard

thank you for your help!
