I'm actually one of those lunatics who bought a 13900k with a 4090.
But now I have a problem that I can't solve after spending a lot of time
I have extremely low CPU usage in games which slows down the GPU a lot and as a result I get pretty much the same FPS in games no matter if it's 4K 1440p or even 1080p with dlss 2.0 in extreme performance
The only thing it changes is that the gpu usage goes down since it's clearly bottlenecked at the same FPS number.
cpu usage as a package is usually between <1 percent and 2 percent, maybe 4% for a short time, no matter what the resolution
It is usually one (possibly rarely 2 or even 3) p core thread that takes over the main workload and is then the only one running at 10-20 percent utilization
I'm practically constantly in the CPU bottleneck and the GPU runs at most 70% in 4K MSFS for example.
It's like I combined a very weak CPU with a 4090
In cinebench, however, my CPU achieves good results and is also utilized at 100 percent.
Drivers and Windows have been reinstalled several times and thermals also are not the problem .
XMP and re bar are enabled (with and without makes no difference in issue)
Now the funny thing about the problem I had a system with a 12700k and another mainboard (z690 Tomahawk) with which I had the same problem. I had already tried everything and therefore returned the CPU and the motherboard because I thought that my cpu or board where the problem.
Only the RAM and the SSD have remained the same as the previous system.
Ram was tested with memTest86 and the ssd with the wd tool.
The z690 board was also previously flashed to the latest bios (for 13th gen)
Does anyone have an idea?
I really appreciate any help
